About this Module
Optometric Practice Management aims to provide learners with some background knowledge on optical retail management via topics such as services, operations, stock and inventory, and financial analysis. At the end of this course, you should be able to:
- Describe the distinct characteristics of services
- Identify and explain the relationship between the elements in the service triangle
- Recognise the various methods of checking service quality
- Recognise the importance of customer service and service recovery
- Explain the various factors such as staff appearance, store layout, merchandising and how they influence the store image and environment
- Explain measures to tighten shop security
- Demonstrate understanding of the five 'Rights' of merchandising and a typical buying cycle in inventory management
- Define what a budget is and types of budgets
- Perform basic analysis and interpretations of financial statements
